SUGGESTIONS FOR LEVELING THE PLAYING FIELD FOR INTELLECTUALS

Our modern society and current global economy require a workforce that is both smart and effective at communication and interaction. Certain groups of all ages and races have recently shown visible decline. These are the same individuals who once created jobs and supervised employees. A recent lack in effective leadership is evident in many economic statistics for the last decade, and in some cases the last two decades. Emotional regulation and education, physical fitness, multitasking, and strategic reaction are incredibly important in navigating a modern career environment.

EMOTIONAL REGULATION AND FITNESS

NEW TECHNOLOGY AND EMOTIONAL REGULATION

This technology provides infinite possibilities for future convenience and medical applications. Emotional regulation is the first thing that comes to mind. Using an app and this interface for an individual to regulate their own emotions could provide incredible mental health and increased awareness in many applications. The only limitations would be opposing emotions would have to be controlled on a sliding scale.

There is however, a great need for regulation as an interface like this would be abused without the proper regulation especially as it hits the consumer market.

In combination with the right education and informed decisions, this could revolutionize both mental health and specifically the well-being of both individuals and group performance.

PHYSICAL FITNESS AND A CREATIVE BUSINESS IDEA

The biggest obstacle to physical fitness especially when speaking of gyms and profitability, is customer retention. The layout of a gym can greatly increase not only retention; it can also increase results. This concept increases results through the layout by reducing mental taxation and embarrassment in the building process.

The layout begins with the locker rooms. With both locker rooms at the farthest wall from the entrance, women’s locker room on the left, and the men’s locker room to the right. In between both locker rooms there is an entrance to a small waiting room. Beyond that waiting room is a sauna room with mirrors for stretching, calisthenics, and yoga. To the right of this is a steam room for relaxation and detoxification.

To the right of the men’s locker room entrance is a hallway with private rooms for tire throwing and private dumbbell rooms lined with mirrors. To the left of the women’s locker room is a quiet cardio room for those who choose to read while working out.

On the left side of the gym is an open cardio area with cardio machines a step fitness area and a public dumbbell area. On the right side of the gym is a rock and log pit behind interlaced resistance and free weight section. This is to promote interaction between those using the free weights and the resistance strength training machines. Each section, the exception being the cardio machines, is designed to face center where there is an open space and an information desk.

The layout becomes much more important than marketing, music, or personal training and would anchor nicely near Barnes & Noble Bookseller’s or other bookstores, downtown areas, and college districts. Because of this, the concept could be offered at lower prices due to a decrease in the need for hourly employees.

A NEW BOARD GAME FOR INCREASING MULTITASKING AND AWARENESS

The game is played by combining chess on two boards, the game Sorry, Monopoly, and Seven Card Stud High Low Split Poker with a pot limit format.

Turn Format

Each player alternates between their choice of chess or monopoly on one turn, and sorry on the next.

Sorry and Recovering Chess Pieces

Once a player moves a pawn into the HOME space, that pawn can be used to retrieve a chess piece of the players choosing.

Each player starts with a $7000 bankroll.

Monopoly and poker are played out of the same bankroll using chips instead of play money. The same as the real estate in monopoly, there are specific prices for chess pieces to be bought back as well, however the prices of chess pieces are not negotiable and the payment is payed to the bank.

When either player’s pieces (non-pawn) are in check, with the same rules as a king, the player has the choice of either sacrificing the piece, or playing a hand of poker and then moving back three pieces of their choosing, if the hand is won or split.

Borrowing Money from the Bank or Sacrificing Pawns

If a player’s bankroll is depleted and they do not have property to sell they have two options. They can borrow any amount from the bank and repay it over a determined amount of turns or they can sacrifice all their pawns for a restart bankroll of $2500.

Object of the Game and the Secondary King Space

A secondary king space is marked on each players F4 space. The first step to checkmate is to land a knight on this space which is then turned into a second king. Only with two unchecked kings can a player checkmate an opponent.

Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity efforts by both state and federal governments have long exceeded equilibrium on race. Using the Labor Force Participation Rate study is a much more accurate statistic than Unemployment rates because the statistic itself, even for the entire population, is a better representation of employment, and it is already corrected for population density and socioeconomic factors. The statistic shows how many individuals of working age within the population are employed. These programs are probably no longer needed. However, further study would be required. One addition though, is the use of county administered aptitude exams in mathematics, reading comprehension, science, emotional awareness and intelligence, and special awareness. The WOTC program could offer tax credits for underperformers, with employers using the scores for hiring purposes.

The results, after careful thought, is that the population would naturally segregate in the workforce, not by race, but by ability. This would happen naturally and has many benefits. This is a much better indicator of team coherence and effectiveness. This would increase output to labor ratios and possibly, over time, lower crime rates and increase educational performance. It could also increase population satisfaction statistics. By reducing jealousy, it could lower irresponsible credit risk as well.
